A polarized filter is a coating, usually heat-sealed to the lens, that is not visible at first glance and its purpose is to polarize light, thus cleaning our image from the reflections of the sun.
It was discovered by the 18-year-old Edwin Land in 1927.
Since then, most sunglass manufacturers have often used this new technology, as the comfortable, non-reflective vision offered by these filters has been much loved by the world.
However, there are some glitches with polarization filters. People suffering from astigmatism of more than 1 degree are often observed to feel a dizzy sensation with polarized lenses.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Polarizing filters also interact with liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and this is because liquid crystal displays also have a polarizing filter. This practically makes it difficult for people who use glasses with polarizing lenses to see screens such as their mobile phone screen, gps, smartwatches etc.
The conclusion we can make about polarizing lenses is that they are very useful for places with strong reflections such as beaches, snowy mountains, driving against the sun and many other situations, however if someone has astigmatism, is in a place with low sunlight or when driving needs to look at the gps or other screens, polarizing lenses may not serve him.<\/p>\n
